If you are anything like me you have dry hair all the time, regardless of what the season is outside. It is like my scalp refuses to produce oil. Anyone else have this problem or is it just me? Hmmm I have been reaping the benefits of this organic deep conditioning hair mask for a few years now. In warm /hot weather I use it about 1 every 2 weeks, in the winter about 1 a week. Of course my beautiful people out there can use as often as they would like. Just use depending on your own needs. I know a lot of my recipes and others call for organic shea butter, but this time we will be using organic mango butter. Similar to shea it is full of nutrients our hair and skin needs, one of the super stars of moisturizers (ranks right up there with shea and coco butter) but it absorbs quickly so it doesn’t leave you greasy. You may add or take away essential oils as you like. I will be using rosemary and peppermint as they are great for hair strengthening, hair growth and helps reduce dry scalp. Mix and match essential oils to what you’d like, have fun with it.
Deep conditioning hair mask
1/4 cup castor oil
1/4 cup avocado oil
2 Tablespoons Argon Oil
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 cup mango butter
5 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops rosemary essential oil
For this recipe you do not need to heat anything up. Just place all the oils (minus the essential oils) in a glass bowl and mix with a fork or wisk until all is incorporated then add essential oils and gently fold in with a spoon. Can be used immediately.
Simply get your hair damp with warm water, then rub into the scalp and comb through to the ends. Place shower cap on and let sit from 30 mins to overnight. Rise out with warm water then shampoo and condition as normal.
