Creamy Taco Pasta

Categories

Do you love tacos? Do you love pasta? Do you want to create a whole meal in 30mins? If you said yes to any of these questions, then Creamy Taco Pasta is for you.  I like to consider this recipe a “Hamburger Helper Copycat”, but with a twist; it is clean and organic!! The Hamburger Helper you can buy in the stores is loaded with sodium, preservatives, artifical dyes, sugar, and the list goes on and on.  Not very clean or organic.  You don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen to live an organic , clean eating lifestyle.  If you want to make this recipe even easier, you can pre-cook the meat and put it all together in a baking dish and freeze for future use.  When ready to cook, take out of the freezer the morning of and bake when ready to eat.  Eating clean and organic does not have to be complicated or time consuming.

  • 1lb ground beef
  • 16 ozs of whole wheat pasta or *homemade pasta*
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of water*
  • 2 cups of cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons of paprika
  • 2 teaspoons of chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of oregano
  • 2 teaspoons of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
  • half an onion chopped

In a large skillet cook the ground beef, using a spoon breaking it up into little pieces as it cooks.  Once fully cooked add the onion and seasonings.  Add the milk and *water*, stir until it comes to a boil; add the pasta.  Reduce heat and cover, allow to simmer for 10 mins, stir occasionally.  Mix in the cheese, until melted.  Serves 4-5.  ****If you are using fresh homemade pasta  Do not add the extra water, only add the 1 cup of water if using fully dried pasta.

I know the picture above isn’t a very good one, but trust me it is oh so good.  You can also top with salsa, taco sauce, whatever you prefer.  Have you tried it? Let me know!
