There is something so satisfying about Alfredo Sauce. It is creamy, smooth, tasty and pairs well with everything. There is nothing Alfredo Sauce doesn’t taste awesome with. There is only 1 problem, it seems traditional Alfredo is full of calories and fat. Ugh not something you want to hear when trying to live a more clean eating lifestyle. I have sat in my kitchen and played around until I found the perfect alternative to tradtional Alfredo Sauce. It is full of protein, calcium , gut healthy bacteria and low in calories. Most important of all it taste amazing, so good you won’t miss the traditional Alfredo Sauce one bit. Can be served over whole wheat pasta, chicken, shrimp or veggies whatever your heart desires. Want to add a little more health benefits try it over my spinach pasta.
- 1 cup of Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 cup of shredded parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic
In a sauce pan combine yogurt and milk. Set to med low heat and stir until combined well, add nutmeg and garlic stir to combine. Add the shredded parmesan cheese, stir with a wisk until a smooth creamy texture is made. Allow to simmer for 5-10 mins while wisking. Serve warm.
